Remember your mammogram. Meigs County Health Department is sponsoring Mammography Screenings offered by The James Mobile Mammography Unit. The unit will be on-site at 112 E. Memorial Drive Pomeroy, OH on June 12, 2008. Remaining appointments are at 12:10pm, 2:00pm, 2:10pm, 2:20pm, 2:30pm, 2:40pm, and 3:00pm. Please call Courtney Sim to schedule at 740-992-6626 ext. 24. The American Cancer Society guidelines state that women over 40 should have an annual mammogram. Take advantage of this quality, convenient service being offered this month.
Eligibility Criteria: not pregnant, not nursing, asymptomatic, no breast implants, no previous breast cancer.
Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial Health Insurance Accepted. Funding available for ladies aged 35 or older who are un/underinsured and income eligible.
"Starting A Business" Workshop
The Small Business Development Center in association with the Appalachian Regional Entrepreneurship Group (AREG) of Southeast Ohio will be sponsoring a "Basis of Successful Start" workshop on the first Monday of each month from 6:00 - 9:00 PM in Suite 237 of Building 20 at The Ridges in Athens.
This workshop is designed to answer basic start-up questions and make starting your business a little easier. Some of the topics that will be covered include: assessing your goal and strengths, registering your business name, licensing, types of ownership, planning your business, sources of financing, and business resources.
